The device is supported | The device is supported using a [[Gossen_Metrawatt#Metrahit_RS232 | RS232 interface]] by the driver gmc-mh-27x. The communication adaptor ''USB-Hit'' should work, too, but is untested.
The device has got a device address that can be set to values from 0 to 15 in the setup. Using the device address 15 is recommended if only a single device is used, it sets a special mode with simplified addressing. The device address 0 sets a special mode where the multimeter does not send replies. It cannot be used with sigrok.
If several devices of the Metrahit 27x family are used on the same RS232 interface using cascaded ''RS232'' interfaces, they need to be set to different device addresses from 1 to 15. In opposite to what the manual says, it seems that the device address 15 can be used, too. Using several devices on the same RS232 interface is an untested feature.
Please contact [[User:Matthias Heidbrink | Matthias']] if you can test one of the untested features.

The Gossen Metrawatt Metrahit 27I is a 3100/31000 counts 600 V CAT II handheld digital multimeter with bidirectional IR (RS232/USB) connectivity. It supports milliohm and insulation (megaohm) measurements and has data logging capabilities.
There are two versions of this device, an older one with yellow rotary switch and a newer one with red rotary switch. They also have different power supply connectors.
