Currently, PV only shows decoded data as a separate trace.

Other tools show it as overlaid data instead. Example: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/Example_ARINC_429_decode.jpg

PV should allow for the user to switch between both ways.

Can you go into more details about how this could/might work?

Overlapping PD traces over individual logic traces is already possible (see attached screenshots).

It's only really useful for individual ones, though. E.g. with the Z80 PD there are 4 annotation rows but like 30 or so logic traces. How would the overlap feature work for that case? Does it make sense for that?
