Currently, the width of the header (left-hand area where the signal handles are shown) is fixed and depends on the longest name among all signals. As these can become very long, the trace view should contain a vertical divider to permit resizing the header.

Yep. If the user-resize shortens the strings (or always), an additional tooltip would be good that shows the full string.
