If this is feasible without too much hassle (seems to work fine for scpi-pps, for example) it would avoid quite a bit of code duplication (even more in the future as even more SCPI-based scope drivers might be added eventually).

If there are some major technical reasons why this wouldn't work, at the very least the code duplication across those three drivers should be reduced as much as feasible.
